In this article, I will show the list of relief centers in Delhi and other possible ways to find free food when you are hungry. 

The national and local government, in collaboration with religious institutions, independent organizations and individuals, is trying to provide relief to people by providing food and shelter. I will update you about the various hunger relief camps that started in Delhi. It is important to share this good and helpful information with people who need it. So, if you are seeing this please direct the people who need the food to the hunger relief centers or food shelters. In this post, I have only shared information about the relief camps in Delhi. I will update information about the other states’ support in food distributions in India. 

Where to find free food in Delhi?

This hashtag #DelhiHungerReliefCentre has been used to spread knowledge on maps of shelter homes and hunger relief centers in Delhi. It has been posted all over the net so that anyone can take help or guide anyone who is in need of help.
These places normally serve food twice a day with lunch at around 12 noon – 2 pm and dinner at 6 pm -9 pm. There are in total in Delhi more than 500 hunger relief centers and food shelters. Their capacity is to feed more than 400,000 people daily. 
 

Most important is to spread the information. So, that the needy people can know where they can take help. We’re giving information about the hunger relief camps throughout India. So, that it reaches out to the person who really needs it.

Organizations and individuals doing food distributions

Many organizations, charitable groups, and individual people have come forward to help people, who are suffering and not getting anything to eat.

RasoiOnWheels is a mobile kitchen service. Rasoi On Wheels is provides packed meal boxes to the less privileged segment of our society. The foundation is working to provide cooked meals. They are also distributing rations to less privileged and daily wage laborers. Contact them on messenger to see if they are distributing around you. 

New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is the local government institution in New Delhi. It is continuously working on distributing food to the needy. Wheat and rice distributions to the needy happen in NDMC schools around Delhi. They have set up serval food relief centers. You can see their public reports about the attendance at food distributions and the occupancy of shelters.

Wishes and Blessings: They are working around since the beginning of the lockdown. Not only distributing food but they are working on three important pillars. These pillars are hygiene, shelter, and nutrition. They are supplying hygiene equipment. Also, they are providing full-time home shelter for homeless people.  You can WhatsApp them or contact them on Facebook to know if they work in your area. 

Mahavir International Delhi is a voluntary charitable and non-religious NGO. They are also working to feed the needy and they do coordinate with the government. You can try to contact them to see whether they work in your area or they can support you anyhow.

Pranyas Development Foundation: They are running various food distribution camps. They are working not only in Delhi but also in M.P and other parts of India too. You can try to contact them to see whether they work in your area or they can support you somehow.

Temples, Gurdwaras, and Mosques doing food distributions

We all know that “God is God who has no one”. On normal days also religious buildings are the first point of contact where a homeless or hungry person goes. During the lockdown, they are trying to feed as many as people they can feed. 

The ISKCON temple located in Dwarka is providing food to thousands of people in a single day. They are taking all the precautions while preparing food. In order to make food healthy. They are collaborating with the government on distributing food through food shelters in Delhi and you can try to contact them on messenger if you want to understand where is their closest food distributions.
